24 Days of Giveaways - Day 3 All Thing Edible

Giveaway Day 3 photo

If you have ever wondered through the garden and thought, wow, that flower looks good enough to eat!  Maybe you can!

Flowers have shown up on plates created not only by master chefs but anyone looking to add a fanciful dash of colour or an unusual flavour. Edible flower petals have adorned salads, and desserts for centuries.  In fact, many cocktails have been made and named using edible petals.   Some you have been enjoying for years without even thinking about it like, Kale, Chives, or Mint for instance.  But maybe if you're adventurous you also find Borage,  Nasturtium, or Calendula to your liking.

Dried Calendula

Absolutely you have to be careful as some flowers are poisonous for humans and sometimes your pets. Positively identifying your flower type is always a safer bet.

They are best picked fresh the day you want to use them in a dish, and the morning when the flower is at its most hydrated state..  You can reinvigorate the petals by soaking in cold water before serving if they wilt on you a little bit.  Your food will never look better.

Day Three of our Twenty-Four Straight Days of Giveaways features 5 packages of gourmet Edible Flower Seeds.  That’s right, some of our best edibles for your garden are flowers.

This prize pack consists of
