I'm sure a few days ago when we introduced Joanna Gaines as an author of children's books, it came as a surprise. We are all used to seeing Joanna and her Magnolia brand on TV and in magazines. But her true calling may actually be delivering plain spoken yet powerful messages through books illustrated for children. Such is the case for The World Needs Who You Were Made To Be, in Joanna's words, "the goal was simply to convey a message that all of us need to hear—no matter who you are, or where you are from, or how old you are, or what you look like, or who you love, or what the color of your skin is, or what you believe in—the world needs you. It needs your abilities and your talents, your quirks and your curiosities, your unique thoughts and your beautiful mind. It needs you just the way you are."
Joanna is right on the money with her approach that we should be celebrating our differences To be yourself, uniquely colourful and bloom at your own pace. So, this book is more than just a sweet story about a group of kids building their hot air balloons for a big adventure. It’s a declaration for seeing and celebrating the differences in one another.
In honour of celebrating our differences we proudly offer Joanna Gaines' The World Needs Who You Were Made To Be as our Day Thirteen of Twenty-Four Days of Giveaways. And to promote the colourful and unique you’ll find in your garden, we have included Bachelor Buttons - Boy Mix, Bee Balm, Lemon Balm, and Whirlybird Nasturtium seeds to celebrate at home.

I love R.J. Palacio’s book “Wonder”. So many important messages for kids and adults. I mean there isn’t anything more important than “being kind”, right?

My granddaughter and I love Andrea Beaty’s books. Girl power, women scientists and creators, and perseverance are just a few of the powerful messages her books give.
