Continue ShoppingTo lighten the mood and freshen spirits as we move to 2021 we are doing 24 straight days of giveaways!! Each giveaway is open for 24 hours. One every day until December 24th.
We are kicking off with Amy Merrick.
Amy Merrick, author of ON FLOWERS considers herself an accidental florist. As she speaks about it in interviews for her book, it’s about not knowing where her path was leading and being spontaneous. Well who hasn’t felt that way this past year? It’s Amy’s chapter on Humble Pleasures that resonates with us during times like these, even as flower farmers, we have learned to see the beauty in humble flowers like four leaf clovers, daffodils and even dandelions. Let’s face it, in a world of global pandemic we all need to find joy in the simple things.
Her book is an inspiration for those seeking to find meaning in a life of flowers. Amazing photography and easy to identify with word crafting.
Amy Merrick’s book, ON FLOWERS, Lessons from an Accidental Florist is our first of 24 days of giveaways this month. Today we celebrate humble things and our love for them. One lucky winner will receive Amy’s book and packs of Amazing Grey Poppies, Double Click Cosmos, and much sought after Eucalyptus seed from Stems Flower Farm.
For a chance to win leave a comment below. This year was a banner year for both flowers and vegies. But the best, my middle daughter has also taken up gardening in a big way, as she was on maternity leave for the whole lockdown, which was pretty tough on her, but building and working in new gardens helped her keep her sanity. I am thrilled to have a co conspiritor, seed and bulb seeker!!

Flowers! Flowers have given me great joy this season. It certainly has been a different year. Receiving your seeds and nurturing them into beautiful blooms and sharing them with my costumers has given me great joy. Flowers have a way of bring joy to everyone, people, birds, bees, and even some annoying insects. I love every minute of what I do because it gives other joy!

I’m planning my 2021 flower beds now and I was pleased to discover your website. I have already decided what I want to order. I’m semi retired and spend most days in my gardens, and receive a great deal of pleasure adding new varieties of plants and watching them grow and bloom. The lockdown we experienced this year didn’t bother me a lot because I would rather stay at home and putter around the yard than be out and about in crowds of shoppers. I enjoy growing roses, dahlias and peony and next spring I plan on planting several types of shade loving plants that I haven’t had in the past.

Gardening and growing flowers is a joy and an obsession – growing from seed reminds us how very small we all are. Growing new things in your garden reminds us we don’t know everything or anything at all. Growing treasures from a friend reminds us of the joy of friendship.
