Continue ShoppingGrowing flowers on a scale like we do, has meant lots of changes over the years, not the least of which is keeping track of how to excel in this new tech driven world.
A couple of years ago, I headed off to a Innisfil Women's Entrepreneur Network seminar held by Innisfil Accelerates featuring Avery Swartz that promised to tell all about marketing our small business online. Sure, we had invested in a website and had Facebook and Instagram running for a while, but a clear strategy seemed a long way off. Avery’s seminar changed that.In fact we refer to Avery’s book, See You on the Internet, Building Your Small Business with Digital Marketing as often as we consult flower growing books. Avery’s book delivers an amazingly simple framework to plan and execute just what our farm business was missing.
Avery has been delivering her digital marketing knowledge in workshops and webinars, to clients for over a decade now, through her company Camp Tech. In fact, in a year of distancing, you can find free workshops in association with the The Ontario Digital Main Street Initiative. To say we recommend Avery’s book or webinars is a dramatic understatement. These are a MUST if you own a small business of any type and have any digital footprint at all, or need help building from where you are now. For full transparency, we are in NO way sponsored Avery’s team for any of this. (In fact she doesn’t even know we’ve written this) We simply believe in her work that much.
And the best part is that Avery is Canadian and local to us here in the Greater Toronto Area, which means she understands the things that influence local business the most. And these reasons are why Avery’s book, See You On The Internet is our feature on day two of twenty four days of giveaways.
We are even throwing in some tech, a Google Home Mini, which makes connecting to the digital world a snap. This package is about getting the answers you want. Think of it as getting a gift of two personal assistants. What better way to start December!

I’ve learned that the old fashioned rules are always good to garden by. Plant sisters together corn, beans, squash and without fail you always get a bumper crop!

Best tech tip – be responsive. Creating a page/account/site is great but if people try to connect and your response is slow…we’ll, that’s the reputation you end up building.

If you think the grass is always greener somewhere else, remember, the grass is greenest where you water it.

The sunset was so gorgeous last night I had to snap a picture or the beautiful glow of the red-pink sky on the railroad tracks….this world is beautiful.
