Continue ShoppingThe ability to just pick up and go meet with friends has to be the thing I miss the most about pre-pandemic life. Just the thought of grabbing a coffee or lunch with someone I enjoy company with gives me pause. And then usually a sigh. The kind my mom used to make when she reflected on times gone by. You know the one that was quickly followed by a reminiscing speech about how things aren’t as simple as they used to be and how my generation doesn’t value things the same way…I find myself making the same speech every so often, and can hear my mom every time.
This past summer in our Cut Your Own Bouquet Garden we tried something new. We created a space large enough to hold a small group for a picnic. We were approached about hosting a birthday party in the garden so the group could cut flowers and bring their own picnic. I thought it was a great idea. Maybe because I wanted to go to such a place myself. But what a fun time they had. Our garden was full of conversation and laughter all afternoon. It was only meant as a trial, but we could quickly see it brought smiles to everyone’s face so we are making a dedicated space with it’s very own private garden for 2022.
Day 22 in our 24 Days of Giveaways features a Cut Your Own Experience for six people in your own private garden. It makes me smile just thinking about it. A totally immersive flower experience with close friends or family with your own picnic. Oh, and did I mention we will take care of the picnic part too?
For a chance to win leave a comment below. In your message, share what you miss most about your pre-pandemic life, or what a picnic in the garden would mean to you, anything really, as long as it puts a smile on everybody’s face. EASY. This giveaway is open to anyone with a Canadian shipping address. This Giveaway is open until Thursday night December 30th at Midnight PT.
Of course, if you know someone who would be inspired by browsing our Cutting Garden Experiences, please share!

What I miss most about my pre-pandemic life are my co workers. Being in the office and working together. It’s just not the same through MS Teams :(

Good comes out of everything sometimes we just have to look for it! There definitely has been some trials that I thought we could do without but on the plus side my husband hung me some lights in the shop so I could start many things early this past year. I got to play in the dirt in January, such fun. Not sure that would have happened otherwise as we were taught to slow life down a bit. The kids loved to come and see the growth of the plants and help with watering. Oh and also a greenhouse was added!

The pandemic actually inspired a newfound love of gardening for me. I found peace and calm in planting from seed, creating my own little vegetable and herb garden on our patio and simply being surrounded by nature and plants. I woke up every morning during the warmer months excited to grow something new or tend to my garden, and in the fall months I woke up looking forward to harvesting from our vegetable patch and creating something nourishing for our dinners.

What the pandemic has not negatively affected for me is my love of gardening. It actually helped me grow even more from seed as inventory was a problem. This way I got to see my results from starting them even earlier which puts a smile on us gardeners faces. I thought I would share a gardening positive from the pandemic :)
