i grow annuals and dahlias in 5 plots each 12′ × 12′ at our community gardens in the seniors community where i live. I sell and give away bunches every week throughout the summer and Fall. My advice….use insect netting instead of pesticides and use the no 5ill no dig method of cultivation…it works!

Well…. I’m not sure what advice I can give re: flower farming because I’m really gearing up this year for my first growing year next year!! But I am a business owner, and patience is a virtue. Year 1 is never what you expect, so make your best plan, roll with the punches and setbacks, and be patient with yourself as you learn and grow.

My best “don’t panic” advice is to remember what shapes us into the people we are is not the situations we get into it’s how we deal with them when we are there…be mindful in how you choose to deal with any situation.

My advice is to create a business plan and check in with it every so often. Maybe it needs to be adjusted. Maybe you need to think bigger! Maybe you’re right on track. A business plan, even for small scale is SO helpful and there are many online templates to help you create one!
