Continue ShoppingThe ability to just pick up and go meet with friends has to be the thing I miss the most about pre-pandemic life. Just the thought of grabbing a coffee or lunch with someone I enjoy company with gives me pause. And then usually a sigh. The kind my mom used to make when she reflected on times gone by. You know the one that was quickly followed by a reminiscing speech about how things aren’t as simple as they used to be and how my generation doesn’t value things the same way…I find myself making the same speech every so often, and can hear my mom every time.
This past summer in our Cut Your Own Bouquet Garden we tried something new. We created a space large enough to hold a small group for a picnic. We were approached about hosting a birthday party in the garden so the group could cut flowers and bring their own picnic. I thought it was a great idea. Maybe because I wanted to go to such a place myself. But what a fun time they had. Our garden was full of conversation and laughter all afternoon. It was only meant as a trial, but we could quickly see it brought smiles to everyone’s face so we are making a dedicated space with it’s very own private garden for 2022.
Day 22 in our 24 Days of Giveaways features a Cut Your Own Experience for six people in your own private garden. It makes me smile just thinking about it. A totally immersive flower experience with close friends or family with your own picnic. Oh, and did I mention we will take care of the picnic part too?
For a chance to win leave a comment below. In your message, share what you miss most about your pre-pandemic life, or what a picnic in the garden would mean to you, anything really, as long as it puts a smile on everybody’s face. EASY. This giveaway is open to anyone with a Canadian shipping address. This Giveaway is open until Thursday night December 30th at Midnight PT.
Of course, if you know someone who would be inspired by browsing our Cutting Garden Experiences, please share!

Our family pandemic get togethers have been having picnics in one of our favourite and centrally located parks (weather permitting) with our children, 5 grandsons and 2 grand pups . Outdoors amongst nature is always healing. Thank you for these wonderful daily giveaways… so generous. Happy Holidays 🎄

Well although I miss and enjoyed entertaining at my home, I realized how much more extra time I had in my garden to grow, weed and collect the beautiful things.

I have really missed travelling since the pandemic has closed things down. I’m 70 and don’t know how many more years of travel I’ll be up to if and when I feel comfortable flying again. I’ll have to be content seeing the beauty of the world not by travelling to other places but by finding it in my own back yard. I know that whoever wins today’s prize will have a wonderful time picnicking and picking bouquets in your”backyard” but unfortunately it won’t be me.

The pandemic lesson: It has shown my son there is more to life than working from home. On his break time ,getting out in the once bare yard has introduced him to a couple of neighbours who are gardeners. They have introduced him to the joys of gardenening . I would love to share a picnic in your cutting garden, with them , to say thanks for sharing.
