Continue ShoppingEvery once in a while we veer from buying books on how to grow better flowers and discover a book about blooms that absolutely leaves us breathless. Victoria BC's Christin Geall recently published Cultivated: The Elements of Floral Style, and WOW, this one is stunning!
Christin has wrapped her many talents together; artist, floral designer, photographer and writer, culminating in one of the most beautiful books on flowers you will ever find. In it, Christin explains how deep ecology can produce a profound connection to floral arrangements. You can tell Christin is a writer immediately when you dive into this book, her words dance on the page. The photography grips you like a walk through an art museum featuring the Dutch Golden Age masters. You will be awed at the final product, amazed at the clear teaching, and soothed by the way Christin walks and talks you through how to create in her own footsteps. And Canadian too!
Regardless of your calling in flowers, this book should be on your bookshelf, it will bring such excitement and inspiration to your craft. We consider this book one of the best on the subject, so, Day 6 of our Twenty-Four Days of Giveaways is Cultivated: The Elements of Floral Style, along with three packages of seed to start your own inspirational cut flower garden. We have chosen Oban Bay Sweet Peas, Love in a Puff and Cup and Saucer Vine as three examples of beautiful flowers that are less traditional bouquet additions, but stunning when presented in unexpected ways.
For a chance to win leave a comment below. In your message share what has brought you joy in the past months, the flowers you have a deep connection with, anything really, as long as it's meant to pick people up. EASY. This giveaway is open to anyone with a Canadian shipping address. Contest is open December 6th for 24 hours. Closes December 6th at midnight PT.

I am so grateful for all my family, staff, and customers who supported us this year! 2020 was definitely a weird one! My love of flowers started when I was super young going to the horticultural society with my mom and grandmother. Truly warms my heart when I see families coming into our shop creating memories together! Geraniums will always have a special place in my heart, my family grew them for 20 plus years and I have many fond memories of my opa working beside him in the greenhouse.

We moved to the country a few months ago. The first time my toddler felt at home enough to run across the front field on her own, I thought my heart would burst for joy :)

My greatest garden joy came from my grandchildren running around and through the garden with the sun shining brightly – what more could an Oma want!

In a crazy year, my garden has brought me so much joy. I think my strawflowers brought me the most joy as it was my first year growing them!
